In the framework of the EU-funded Unwaste project, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in co-operation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), invite you to subscribe to receive the Unwaste Trendspotting Alert, a quarterly bulletin on the developments in the waste flows between Europe and Southeast Asia. The bulletin will provide you with updates related to waste trafficking, relevant policy developments, ongoing projects in the four project countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam – and on the main waste flows coming from Europe.
About the project
Unwaste - tackling waste trafficking to support a circular economy addresses the illicit flows of waste from Europe to Southeast Asia and will promote good practices for the detection of waste shipments that are in violation of national and international regulations. Unwaste is piloted in four countries in Southeast Asia - Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam - but it also aims at developing regional standards at the ASEAN level.
